Public web service was shut down on 2/6/2020 while the incident was investigated by server administrators and OIT Security. Resource constraints require that the service be discontinued and relaunched in a different, more easily-managed way. Other services such as Google Suite and Mailman are currently not affected other than password changes. For websites, arrangements are being made to migrate WordPress sites of currently registered organizations to the campus sites.uci.edu WordPress service. The timeline is unknown, but we will provide an update as soon as more information is gathered. If you would like to opt-out of the data migration to sites.uci.edu, please email campusorgs@uci.edu with the name of your organization. Sites.uci.edu is a more tightly managed service which offers a core set of pre-authorized plug-ins, and everything is kept up-to-date for users, but groups will no longer be able to install their own custom plug-ins. Additionally, we are in the process of implementing a new registration platform (summer 2020) that will also offer basic web services. We appreciate your patience and understanding during this process. If you would like to discuss other alternatives to accessing your data, please contact campusorgs@uci.edu . Clarification: No websites will be restored on clubs.uci.edu. If your organization had a website with an address starting with clubs.uci.edu, it will need to be setup on sites.uci.edu or another location of your choosing. Is your website affected? If you use the web address "clubs.uci.edu" in your organization's website URL, your website is affected. Please let us know what to do with your site , especially if you are interested in receiving copies of your files and/or data. Section 2 Campus Orgs Web Services ("CO Web Services" or "COWS") provides various web resources to clubs and organizations at UCI. We are currently accepting COWS applications for the 2019-2020 year. Section 3 Popular services WordPress Websites We provide clubs with free WordPress websites on sites.uci.edu. UCI Email Addresses & Google Accounts Clubs are able to register for a UCI email alias through us, e.g. orgname@uci.edu. Additionally, our Google account service provides organizations with UCI Google Drive and G-Suite (Google Docs, Sheets, etc.). Mailing Lists We use Mailman to give clubs a personal email subscription list, e.g. orgname-list@mail.clubs.uci.edu, in order to send emails to all subscribed members.
